My name is Sally Yageric. After leaving my career in finance, I found myself exploring the world my children were growing up in. More than 30 years later, that exploration has lead me to the position of the Director of Community Programs for the Prevention Council where I oversee special request programming in both classrooms and in the community. My job involves working with community coalitions, providing accurate information on the latest trends to the community at large, educating government representatives concerning substance use as it relates to pending legislation, working with the media on trending issues in the field, and establishing relationships with key community stakeholders.

Other than the people I work with, the best part of my job has been meeting new and interesting people.  One of my most comedic encounters was with an individual in an assisted living facility where I was facilitating a presentation on how drugs impact the body as we age. When I asked if anyone had any questions,  a women boldly raised her hand and in a serious tone asked if I knew, “Where to get some of that marijuana that you can smoke?”

A fun fact about me is that I am a very family oriented person. I come from a family of nine siblings, I have four children of my own, and ten grandchildren that keep my world active and very interesting.
