My name is Marie Kwietniewski and I earned my Bachelors at Hilbert College, a Trauma Certificate at UB School of social work and I am certified in alcohol and substance abuse (CASAC) by New York State. I have been working with At-Risk Youth for over 30 years working as a Social Worker, Director of Non-Secure Detention Facility, Adolescent Addictions Counselor and now as a Prevention Specialist here at The Prevention Council. I enjoy going into different area schools helping our kids with many issues which hinder their progress but also giving them support and encouragement to  becoming successful  in achieving not only their academic goals but also their personal goals.

My favorite memory from working at The Prevention Council is every time a student makes better choices and achieves a goal. My favorite aspect of working with community is being taught something new every day by my students. One fun fact about me is that I hate to cook, but I love to bake.
